Kiki’s Delivery Service

Kiki’s Delivery Service is a delightful film. It’s about a young witch who moves to a new town and starts her own delivery service. There are some great messages in the story. For example, how important it is to believe in yourself.

Collateral is a crime drama about an insurance salesman who finds himself in way over his head when he agrees to help a hitman with a job. The show is based on the British series of the same name, which was created by David Hare and had two seasons on Sky One. It stars Carey Mulligan, John Simm, and Nicola Walker, and was created by Alexi Kaye Campbell.

Taking place in London, and opens with a tense scene that shows us just how much trouble our main character is in. He’s a salesman at an insurance firm who is struggling to pay off his debts. His wife left him years ago because he can’t stop getting into trouble—he’s been arrested several times for fighting, has lost his job as a salesman because he punched out his boss at work one day after being provoked by him (or so he says), and now he owes money to some very dangerous people who won’t take no for an answer.

When one of these criminals asks him for help with a job that involves kidnapping and blackmailing someone’s family member, he doesn’t have much choice but to agree—and things get complicated from there!

Cop Land

The show stars Sylvester Stallone as Freddy Heflin, the sheriff of the town where all these cops live and work. The characters are all well developed and interesting, from Freddy’s wife (played by Debra Monk) to his deputy (played by Michael Rapaport). Each episode follows a different character or group of characters as they struggle through some sort of problem or plotline, but it all comes together in the end for an emotional conclusion that will leave you wanting more.

Gone Baby Gone

The plot of the movie is about two detectives who are investigating the kidnapping of a little girl. They have to deal with the pressures of their jobs and also the pressure from the mother of the missing child. The movie takes place in Boston, which can make or break it depending on how you feel about that city.

The acting is superb, especially from Casey Affleck—who plays one of the detectives—and Michelle Monaghan—who plays his wife and partner in work and life. The story line is interesting enough that it keeps you wanting more, but not too much that it gets boring or confusing (which can happen when you’re watching something like this).

Overall, I would say that this is worth a watch if you’re looking for something suspenseful and thrilling but not too intense or scary (like some other crime dramas).

The Player

The Player is a comedy-drama series that centers on a retired Los Angeles mob enforcer who becomes a player in the game after he agrees to help solve the murder of a former colleague. The plot follows Mickey and Ben as they team up to find out who killed Mickey’s friend and mentor, Pete DePaulo (played by James Caan), who was killed while playing golf at his favorite course in Santa Monica. His killer was never found and no motive was given for the crime. But after reading about the murder in the newspaper, Mickey decides that he wants to solve it himself—but not for any reason other than because he can’t stand unsolved mysteries. He believes that if he can solve this one case then maybe he’ll finally be able to let go of his past life as an assassin.

Beanie Mania

Beanie Mania is the best show on TV right now. It’s about a group of kids who get lost on a field trip and stumble into a secret underground world of toys and sweets. The show has an incredible cast and crew, and it’s definitely worth checking out if you like action-packed stories about kids making friends and learning how to be themselves.

Fun Fact: Brings the joy of the 90s back to life.

Ron’s Gone Wrong

The HBO series Ron’s Gone Wrong is a show that, in just two seasons, has become one of the most iconic and beloved shows on television. It’s funny, it’s heartwarming, it’s got some great music. There’s nothing bad you can say about this show!

The characters are all so well-developed, especially Ron (played by Matt Damon). He’s a great guy who just wants to be happy, but he doesn’t know how to do that because he keeps getting into trouble with the law and getting himself into situations where he has to lie to his friends or family members in order to avoid getting into trouble himself. Still, even though he makes these mistakes and has to hide them from everyone around him—and even though sometimes his mistakes get him into trouble with serious consequences—his love for his family and friends never wavers.

The writing is phenomenal. The dialogue between characters is real and believable; there are no cheesy lines or forced jokes here. Instead we get natural conversations between characters that make sense given both their personalities as well as the context of their situation at that moment in time within the plotline itself (or whatever it might be). The cinematography is also fantastic; every shot tells us something new about each character.

Lesson learnt: If kids use technology, it must be for a good reason not just to spoil themselves.

8-bit Christmas

8-Bit Christmas is a movie about three friends who are trying to save Christmas by going to the North Pole. When they get there, they find out that Santa Claus has been kidnapped by an evil elf. They have to work together with Santa’s elves to save him from the elf and stop his evil plan of turning all of the toys into robots!

The movie was funny and cute. I liked how Santa’s elves were voiced by some famous people like Jake T. Austin (Wizards of Waverly Place), Jennifer Morrison (Once Upon a Time), and Don Cheadle (Ocean’s Eleven). It was also cool to see all of those video game references like Super Mario Bros., Tetris, Pong, Donkey Kong, Street Fighter II, Donkey Kong Country, Pac-Man, Sonic The Hedgehog and more! The animation was really good too. It was very colorful and it felt like you were watching something from your childhood; especially when they went into 8-bit mode every now and then!

Cooking the Perfect Burger

Cooking the Perfect Burger is a documentary about a man who has made it his life’s work to figure out what makes a burger perfect, and then share his findings with the world. He travels around the country, talking to people who love burgers: chefs, scientists, professional eaters (yes, those exist), and even some of his own family members.

He starts off by trying to define what makes a burger perfect, which seems easy enough on its face: “It’s all about the meat,” he says at one point. But then he quickly realizes that there’s no such thing as “the perfect meat.” He meets with cattle ranchers and farmers who have been raising cattle for decades—and still haven’t figured out how to make every single animal into one that tastes great when turned into ground beef for burgers.

Even if he could find the perfect meat for each individual animal, he’d still need to figure out how to grind it up into something delicious—and there are so many different ways to do that! And then once he’s got his ground beef ready… well… then things get really complicated.
